CurveExpert Professional: Under development
After a very long hiatus, I have decided to write a completely new application called CurveExpert Professional. This product will do everything that CurveExpert did, do it better, and with many more features besides. I am very excited about working on this project, and the recent website redesign reflects my commitment to it.
New Features
There are so many new features that I cannot count them all. Some of the highlights are:
- multiplatform: will run on Windows, Linux, or Mac.
- vastly improved, publication quality plots
- multivariate regression and 3d plotting
- basic and advanced user models; anything that you can write, you can turn into a model. I know that this sounds mysterious, but I want to keep the details under wraps until release.
- lowess smoothing
- moving averages
- improved initial guess and results presentations
- parameter uncertainties
- native file format so that you can preserve your work
- more robust file import
And probably a few other major features that have slipped my mind at the moment.
Release Time Frame
At this point, I am looking at release in December 2010, as best as I can estimate it. The development of this software has progressed extremely well, but as I have learned, it is not necessarily the major features but the polishing and packaging that are so time consuming. Please keep in mind that this release date a goal, and not hard set. If I don't deem the software ready, I will not release it until it is.
Screen Shots
Note that these screen shots are from the software in its very infantile state; but they are interesting nonethess.
