CurveExpert Professional 1.1.1 Released
CurveExpert Professional 1.1.1 is a maintenance update in order to fix a couple of problems in the creation of custom models, and to fix a Debian Linux non-starting problem. If you do not plan to use custom models, this is a noncritical update (if you are Debian-based Linux user, obviously this is a required update). The changelog is below:
- RESOLVED: models with a single parameter (i.e., "x+ c") did not parse correctly in the user model equation dialog when trying to create a model. Fixed.
- RESOLVED: (bug introduced in 1.1.0) a caret was not treated correctly in the user model equation dialog when trying to create a model (for example, x^c); an error message "Global name a not defined" would appear. Fixed.
- RESOLVED: application would not start on Debian-based versions of Linux. Fixed.
- CHANGED: The "Automatic Initial Guesses" checkbox in the nonlinear model picker is now retains its last setting.
If you do not care to update, you can easily work around the caret bug by using a double asterisk (**) in its place instead. The single parameter bug cannot be worked around as easily; it is recommended that you update if you plan to use custom models with just one parameter.
Version 1.2.0 should be released within 10-14 days; so, unless you have immediate need of the changes in 1.1.1, it would probably be easier to just wait until then to update.
